Horse chestnut extract
Horse chestnut extract is produced from the tree seeds. This tree grows in mountain forests of the Balkans and western Asia. In Greece it is mainly found in the mountain forests of Epirus and Macedonia. The extract has been used for years as a natural hair dye and for its beneficial properties for skin care. Studies have shown that the main active substance in horse chestnut seeds is aeskin, a mixture of triterpene saponins with a soothing effect. Horse chestnut extract is also rich in other ingredients, such as bioflavonoids, antioxidants, and coumarins. All the above make it a unique extract that effectively contributes to skin care.
